One of the top questions I get from nonprofit leaders is, "Why Tweet?" The number one reason why is because it's "easy". Let me explain.
Tweeting for me is super easy. I spend no more than 10 minutes per day if there is someone or some event that I'm following. Most of the time, it's much less than 10 minutes.
For many non-profit and for-profit leaders I work with, they don't even have 10 minutes. For you folks, I highly recommend 10 minutes every Tuesday. Call it your Twitter Tuesday.
Here are 4 things you can do on your first Twitter Tuesday in 10 minutes or less:
- Follow somebody you like that has a lot more followers than you. You can learn a lot just by watching him or her. For example, I follow Warren Whitlock, author of The Twitter Revolution and Profitable Social Media. You can follow me (Phil Johncock), too!
- Retweet a message from the person you just followed.
- Follow a client or colleague. For example, I follow the Alliance for Nevada Nonprofits.
- Retweet a message from the client or colleague you just followed.
10 minutes is easy. Anybody can spare 10 minutes to learn something fun. Make sure to sign up to get updates from Twitter Tuesday by email. Enter your name and email in the right sidebar. Then, click submit. It's that EASY!
